At 44-years-old with four children and a granddaughter on the way, I knew I needed to lose weight! My mother was listening to K-LUV morning radio in Dallas and heard that DJ Cathy Jones lost 70 pounds on Medifast and suggested I look in to it.

I made an appointment and started at Medifast Weight Control Centers in February 2006 weighing 243 pounds, and in the first 2 weeks I lost 14 pounds! Here I am 64 weeks later and I have lost a total of 82 pounds, 12 inches off of my waist and I dropped 5 pant sizes.

While I have been overweight for the last ten years, the past five years I have been VERY overweight – and it was a great struggle for me. I tried other diets but didn’t stick with them and eventually gained back double the amount I had lost.

Being overweight took a lot away from me. It negatively affected my health and my self-confidence. It also affected my social life and work life.

Because of my success at Medifast Weight Control Centers, I am now able to fit into chairs, airplane seats, and amusement park rides. I can even bend over to tie my shoes without breathing hard and straining myself! I am able to wear cute clothes, run faster and jump higher -- it’s absolutely amazing! I feel great, my depression has lifted and I am a lot more active. I regulated my thyroid and my cholesterol dropped 29 points.

Everyone has been so encouraging; I’m so appreciative of that. I have become more popular because a lot of people want to know how I lost the weight! I will remain on the 5 & 1 Plan until I have lost a total of 100 pounds. From there, I will transition to the maintenance stage. The Medifast Program has been easy and fast. I love the food, especially the chocolate pudding, shakes, chicken noodle soup, and the bars.
